Ite Missa Est. Well, this is the end of the road for HallowedGround. I’m pretty much “blogged out”. Not a bad run, eh? Alot of real great pictures were posted, laughs were had, tears were shed (so melodramatic!). Between work (or possibly in the near future the lack thereof!), and other issues I am just really tired of blogging. Let it be said, that when I first started blogging, I was primarily concerned about the then-fabled “Motu Proprio”. We exhorted each other to pray for it, and the Good Lord being Good was propitious upon his people, and it was issued! Always pray for Pope Benedict XVI. Benedict has put “traditionalism” back into the life of the Church. When I came back to the Church about 5 years ago, it was due in no small part to the Latin Mass. He has taken the Ancient Liturgy from the fringes, and put it back into the Heart of the Church where it belongs. He has given the Church a new, lively step as of late, and things seem like they’re picking up.

If I have said anything to offend anyone, I am sorry. Please pray for this poor sinner, I have always been overly cantankerous.

Yes, the blog will be staying up in perpetuity, or at least until WordPress goes out of business. Also, I promised I would open up the “vaults” when this blogging thing wore out. Please do use them on your blogs, just because I stopped blogging doesn’t mean “Traditional Catholic Visualism” has to end. I have used about 75-80% of the pics I have stored. You can find them in these places:

Oh.. A Big P.S.:
Due to repeated questions of  “Ken, where do you  get these great pics?”etc…left in the combox of numerous posts, I have promised that I would eventually provide some tips & hints for finding great pics. Well, here you go:

Foreign Ebay always has tons of great “Churchy”  pics, go to Italian Ebay, and put in Papa Pio/Paolo/Giovanni. Or German Ebay and put in Papst Pius/Paul/Johannes. Or any of the foreign ones for that matter. And the same things go for Foreign Google picture searches: Italian Google. Great Example: French Google: type in Soutane. You get the picture!

Thank you all for coming to this blog, I hope it occasionally edified you.

He that giveth testimony of these things, saith, Surely I come quickly: Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. (Book of Revelation)

After the Federal “bailouts”, and on the cusp of Obama’s Apotheosis:
The Ghosts of Local Governance return to taunt us…

I yet believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people, not only essential to the adjustment and balance of the general system, but the safeguard to the continuance of a free government. I consider it as the chief source of stability to our political system, whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it. I need not refer one so well acquainted as you are with American history, to the State papers of Washington and Jefferson, the representatives of the federal and democratic parties, denouncing consolidation and centralization of power, as tending to the subversion of State Governments, and to despotism. Robert E. Lee in reply to Lord Acton

(***Note: Just to nip silly comments in the bud since most folks think the Civil War was all about slavery: This is not an approval of ghastly things like slavery, racism, segregation, etc. Rather it is a lamentation of the violent displacement of the Sovereignty of the States which created the Republic, with the current Centralized Monstrosity.***)

PhotobucketHomosexualist Zealots Attacking Mormon Temple in L.A.

What’s going on in California? Anti-democratic homosexualist riots are continuing. The people of California voted, and the people voted against the homosexual fiction. Are we Americans to riot every time a ballot doesn’t go our way? Is this a precedent we wish to establish? Mind you, America has just elected a far-left politician, who also happens to be our first black president. Should folks who disagree with the results of the Presidential election (whatever their reasons) take to the streets and violently disrupt society? Be careful. Yet, this is what is happening in California as we speak. The majority of Californians voted against Homosexual “marriage”, despite years of mainstream media brain-washing. Now, the homosexual agenda wants to take it out of the hands of the people, and have the case decided by an faceless judiciary. Just as important, and dangerous, is the violent attack made against religious institutions (some Catholics, mostly Mormons). Now, as much as I think mormonism is ridiculous, having a fringe group overtly attacking them is very frightening, and points to an increasingly violent, anti-democratic radical movement. They talk of “tolerance” and “discrimination”, and yet spew violent hatred on  their fellow Americans, Democracy, and Religious Freedom when it stands in their way. I wouldn’t be suprised if the Totalitarians of the 21st century will be wearing Lavender jackboots.  Article on Issue Article on the violent mindset of the rioters

Solzhenitsyn: Gulag 1953

Destructive and irresponsible freedom has been granted boundless space. Society appears to have little defense against the abyss of human decadence, such as, for example, misuse of liberty for moral violence against young people, motion pictures full of pornography, crime and horror. It is considered to be part of freedom and theoretically counter-balanced by the young people’s right not to look or not to accept. Life organized legalistically has thus shown its inability to defend itself against the corrosion of evil……However, in early democracies, as in American democracy at the time of its birth, all individual human rights were granted because man is God’s creature. That is, freedom was given to the individual conditionally, in the assumption of his constant religious responsibility. Such was the heritage of the preceding thousand years. Two hundred or even fifty years ago, it would have seemed quite impossible, in America, that an individual could be granted boundless freedom simply for the satisfaction of his instincts or whims. Subsequently, however, all such limitations were discarded everywhere in the West; a total liberation occurred from the moral heritage of Christian centuries with their great reserves of mercy and sacrifice. State systems were becoming increasingly and totally materialistic. The West ended up by truly enforcing human rights, sometimes even excessively, but man’s sense of responsibility to God and society grew dimmer and dimmer. Alexander Solzhenitsyn: Harvard 1978 (Must read; he hits the nail on the head)

While this America settles in the mould of its vulgarity, heavily thickening
to empire
And protest, only a bubble in the molten mass, pops and sighs out, and the
mass hardens,
I sadly smiling remember that the flower fades to make fruit, the fruit rots
to make earth.
Out of the mother; and through the spring exultances, ripeness and decadence; and home to the mother.
You making haste haste on decay: not blameworthy; life is good, be it stubbornly long or suddenly
A mortal splendor: meteors are not needed less than mountains:
shine, perishing republic.
But for my children, I would have them keep their distance from the thickening center; corruption
Never has been compulsory, when the cities lie at the monster’s feet there
are left the mountains.
And boys, be in nothing so moderate as in love of man, a clever servant,
insufferable master.
There is the trap that catches noblest spirits, that caught – they say –
God, when he walked on earth. Robinson Jeffers: Shine, Perishing Republic

Oh Cincinnatus of the Potomac! Weep for the Republic! Leftist Rabble have taken the ramparts…The Leathery Wings of Socialism are casting a dark shadow over our fair land. The Bureaucratic Vampires of the Nanny State are sharpening their teeth, and marking our veins. The Grand Turk has taken the reins…. The Demoniac Party’s planks of Atheism, Socialism, and Pre-Natal Infanticide will be further entrenched into law. My countrymen have become “flakes”, they are the most gullible politically-corrected dullards, they have elected their own chains. I never thought we would buy into Euro-style short-leash Socialism. Evidently they want Big-Daddy government handing out bread. They forget there’s a price attached. They have castrated and lobotomized themselves, and call it Freedom. Elected a man who has done nothing for this country. The Ayatollah Barak-Hussein-Obama will have a Demoniac Majority Congress, and he will stack an aging Supreme Court with like minded men. I just finished watching the crowds on the TV news shows, flashing to triumphant Obama supporters quipped up into a Hitlerite Euphoria. <Sigh>As the Omnipotent state rises, Thank God for the 2nd Amendment. I call heaven and earth to witness this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose therefore life, that both thou and thy seed may live. Deut 30:18

“Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old,” he said. “I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.” Barack Obama, March 29th 2008

It is no less true that we are confronted by an even larger reality, which can be described as a veritable structure of sin. This reality is characterized by the emergence of a culture which denies solidarity and in many cases takes the form of a veritable “culture of death”. This culture is actively fostered by powerful cultural, economic and political currents which encourage an idea of society excessively concerned with efficiency. Looking at the situation from this point of view, it is possible to speak in a certain sense of a war of the powerful against the weak: a life which would require greater acceptance, love and care is considered useless, or held to be an intolerable burden, and is therefore rejected in one way or another. A person who, because of illness, handicap or, more simply, just by existing, compromises the well-being or life-style of those who are more favoured tends to be looked upon as an enemy to be resisted or eliminated. In this way a kind of “conspiracy against life” is unleashed. Pope John Paul II: Evangelium Vitae

St. Paul: Let women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be subject, as also the law saith. But if they would learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is a shame for a woman to speak in the church. 1 Cor 14 (wouldn’t it be funny/sad/telling if this reading was in the N.O. lectionary, and was being read to the congregation by a woman?!)

Contra St. Paul: ***Probably the most newsy — and somewhat unexpected — item in the final propositions of the Synod of Bishops on the Bible was a proposal to allow women to be officially installed in the ministry of lector.

The issue was raised in Proposition 17 on “The ministry of the word and women,” and on Saturday morning it passed with 191 votes in favor, 45 opposed and three abstentions, according to our sources***.CNS article

Isn’t that special? I cringe when I hear people speak of Modernism in the past tense, as if it was some early 20th century heresy that was crushed, vanquished, and we can now breathe easy. Nonsense. Modernism has the Church in a strangle hold, and is slowly squeezing the life out of Her as we watch. These men with itchy ears are running the Church, and are the instruments of destruction. You never know what they are going to do, they’re almost totally untrustworthy. Another abuse becomes the norm.

A presidential election forum at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church on Sunday centered mainly on abortion. The argument and audience, however, erupted when Diocese of Scranton Bishop Joseph F. Martino unexpectedly arrived and vehemently expressed his distaste for what was said about the church’s stance on voting for pro-choice candidates and the exclusion of his anti-abortion letter at the forum, which recommends voting against pro-choice candidates for moral reasons. Martino, who arrived while the panelists were stating their viewpoints, took issue with the USCCB statement, which was handed out to everyone at the meeting, and also that his letter was not mentioned once at the forum.

“No USCCB document is relevant in this diocese,” said Martino. “The USCCB doesn’t speak for me.”

“The only relevant document … is my letter,” he said. “There is one teacher in this diocese, and these points are not debatable.”….The letter also states that Catholic public officials who “persist in public support for abortion” should “not partake in or be admitted to the sacrament of Holy Communion.”

“No social issue has caused the death of 50 million people,” he said, nothing that he no longer supports the Democratic Party. “This is madness people.” Full Article (hat tip to Aufer a Nobis)

MenachemSchneersonbillboard-1.jpg picture by kking8888One of the many “Anothers”: I remember quite a few years back, when the gentleman on the  billboards (Menachem Schneerson) passed away his followers plastered stickers, and ads throughout NYC emblazoned with the word “Mosiach” (Messiah). Evidently some of the NY Hasidim considered him to be the long-awaitied Messiah. Some of them waited for his Resurrection (perhaps some still are). Some interesting articles below:

NY times Article: The messianists, who say they believe they can hasten the rebbe’s return by persuading as many people as possible that he is the messiah, promote their agenda in the streets, proselytizing regularly in non-Lubavitch neighborhoods, approaching strangers and prodding them to recite Yechi. Their calls are echoed by two messianic talk-radio shows, ”Living With Moshiach” (the Hebrew word for messiah) and ”Moshiach in the Air.”

They are also reclaiming an abandoned element of the religion; Judaism, after all, was the original Western messianic faith. Still, for most Jews today, observant and secular alike, the very concept of a messiah has become, at most, a metaphorical one.

Another Article (Protestant Site): Rebbe Menachem Schneerson wouldn’t be of much interest to most of us outside his movement, except for one fact. Beginning in the1980s, speculation was rife among many followers that the Rebbe was, indeed, the long awaited Messiah, the Moshiach, as they called him. Many Lubavitch were certain that Rebbe Schneerson would reveal himself as Moshiach. You could even see some bumper stickers around New York reading Moshiach Now!

There was only one slight problem. In 1994, the Rebbe died.

Here, though, is the fascinating thing: though Rebbe Schneerson died, RabbiMenachem.jpg picture by kjk76_94speculation that he was the Messiah didn’t. Many followers believed that he would soon be resurrected and assume his rightful position as the Messiah. Rumors abounded that holes were drilled in the top of his coffin so that he could breathe. One Lubavitch newspaper wrote the following about Schneerson–after his death: “May our Master, Teacher, and Rabbi the King Messiah live forever.”

Nevertheless I say to you, hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the power of God, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Matt 26:64

When I first came back to the Church 6 years ago (via the Traditional Latin Mass) I was astounded by the beautiful, dignified, vestments of a type I had never seen before. I speak of the “Roman” or “Fiddleback”, which seemed to disappeared between VatII, and my earliest memories. At the time I thought that the “Roman” vestments were vastly superior to the dowdy horse-blankets I remembered the priests wearing when I was a kid (and more “trad” to boot!). However, over the years my aesthetic sensibilities have changed, and I have seen that the Gothic style is every bit as dignified, and traditional, as it’s Roman cousin. It’s just that the modern interpretation of the Gothic seems to be purposely ugly in the name “simplicity”. Long story short: Both styles are traditional, and dignified if made with their final use in mind: The Greater Glory of God (Post on different vestments styles at NLM)

Where the Hell is Osama? Did we forget about Bin Laden while fighting for Israel in Iraq? (thanks to AIPAC, and our Evangelical “brethren”). If you would have told me in Sept-Oct 2001 that 7 years later Muhammeds truest son would still be breathing I would have laughed, or have been very angry. But, nonetheless here we are. Justice delayed is justice denied.

In my eyes at least, Bush can partially redeem his otherwise horrible presidency by getting this guy before he leaves office. (Since his malfeasance almost guarantees a Democratic win in the upcoming election, or at best a razor thin Republican win).

President Obama will be too busy building his vision of a Socialism: American Style (Federally mandated sodomite “marriage”, more liberal pre-natal infanticide laws, civilian brownshirsts, Sex ed in Kindergarten, you get the picture..) than hunting down his co-religionists in Afghanistan. (Mrs. Obama is the really scary one). I digress from the filth of politics, back to the question….

What the Hell? Osama is still alive 7 years after murdering over 3000 Americans in our own backyard!

In Bucharest I highlighted the fact that in Romania, too, you suffered together:  “The communist regime suppressed the Church of the Byzantine-Romanian rite united with Rome and persecuted Bishops and priests, men and women religious and lay people, many of whom paid with blood for their fidelity to Christ…. I would also like to give due recognition to the members of the Romanian Orthodox Church and of other Churches and religious communities who suffered similar persecutions and grave restrictions. Death united our brothers and sisters in faith in the heroic witness of martyrdom:  they have left us an unforgettable lesson of love for Christ and his Church” John Paul II: The Church in Romania

Jesus Christ, yesterday, and today; and the same for ever. Heb 13:8

08hp0196.jpg picture by kjk76_95

Some suggested that the Holy Father distributed Communion in the traditional manner only because it was the Feast of Corpus Christi–of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ–and that he was making a point about the sacredness of the Eucharist. A new interview with the master of ceremonies for papal Masses, however, makes it clear that he was indeed making a point, but that this was not a one-time thing. In L’Osservatore Romano, the official newspaper of the Vatican, Monsignor Guido Marini was asked whether the “practice [is] destined to become habitual in papal ceremonies.” (Article)

***All well & good. Thanks be to God, the Holy Father has reintroduced a common sense way of receiving the “Source & Summit” of Christianity (Christ Himself). However, why just Papal ceremonies? Is the Eucharist received from the Pope somehow more “special” than received at a humble parish Mass? Is Jesus more present?  Of course not. Same Christ, Same Sacrifice no matter where offered, by whichever Priest of the Church. So, if it is indeed true it is a “more reverent” way of receiving Holy Communion then it is an Objectively “more reverent” way, and should be done in all Churches by all Catholics. Unless of course we don’t want to reverence God any more than what we do now, which should be seen as absurd. Right? ***

The salient point of this Council is not, therefore, a discussion of one article or another of the fundamental doctrine of the Church which has repeatedly been taught by the Fathers and by ancient and modern theologians, and which is presumed to be well known and familiar to all. For this a Council was not necessary. But from the renewed, serene, and tranquil adherence to all the teaching of the Church in its entirety and preciseness, as it still shines forth in the Acts of the Council of Trent and First Vatican Council, the Christian, Catholic, and apostolic spirit of the whole world expects a step forward toward a doctrinal penetration and a formation of consciousness in faithful and perfect conformity to the authentic doctrine, which, however, should be studied and expounded through the methods of research and through the literary forms of modern thought. No believer will wish to deny that the teaching authority of the Church is competent to interpret even the natural moral law. It is, in fact, indisputable, as our predecessors have many times declared, that Jesus Christ, when communicating to Peter and to the Apostles His divine authority and sending them to teach all nations His commandments, constituted them as guardians and authentic interpreters of all the moral law, not only, that is, of the law of the Gospel, but also of the natural law, which is also an expression of the will of God, the faithful fulfillment of which is equally necessary for salvation…….

Christian married couples, then, docile to her voice, must remember that their Christian vocation, which began at baptism, is further specified and reinforced by the sacrament of matrimony. By it husband and wife are strengthened and as it were consecrated for the faithful accomplishment of their proper duties, for the carrying out of their proper vocation even to perfection, and the Christian witness which is proper to them before the whole world. To them the Lord entrusts the task of making visible to men the holiness and sweetness of the law which unites the mutual love of husband and wife with their cooperation with the love of God the author of human life… Given at Rome, 25th day of July, feast of St. James the Apostle, in the year 1968. (Paul VI: Humanae Vitae)

When I was a teenager/early 20’s, and was very far from practicing my Faith, anything like this would have kept me miles away from the Church. A bunch of suggary, “slap-happy” drama-club kids clapping hands, strumming guitars, and saying things like “Ain’t Jesus great, gang!”, or, “Let’s Praise Him” would have led me to a mix of nausea and ridicule. The only reason I would have went would be to meet girls (evidently, from some of the below pics, many boys thought the same).

However, WYD serves a purpose, as it shows in one concentrated locale what Traditional Catholics are fighting against, and why we exist. Is this what Christianity is? Is that it? Hanging out half naked, half drunk (don’t you doubt some are drunk, or worse), and un-reformed at a Giant Woodstock Mass with 100,000 people?  I don’t even want to think about the many acts of Sacrelige such a gathering practically gaurantees. It just creates another generation of half-ass “Catholics”.

From Article on WYD :

Along with the spiritual aspects of the event, the social interaction that comes with hundreds of thousands of young people mingling is also a big attraction for the pilgrims.

“Just the euphoria of everyone coming together, all different countries for one purpose, for peace,” said one young female pilgrim.

“It’s a good time because you can do so many things you don’t expect to be doing and there’s great people, you can be doing partying when you don’t expect to,” said a young male participant. (Article on WYD, and justified response from the local SSPX folks)

Warning: Some of the below pictures from past WYD Masses are scandalous, profane, and indecent. Some might lead to indecent thoughts, and contempt for clergy. **Isn’t that sad, that Mass can lead to indecency?, Speaks volumes!**

Common Error

Secularists changing BC/AD to BCE/CE (Before the Common Era/Common Era) ? If it ever comes up when chatting with a person of the secularist persuasion, act stupid, and say “BCE ?, oh sure, you mean Before Christ’s Era, and CE, Christ’s Era”? They are making an increasingly common error.

What the Hell?

This is a cover a new book I saw on B&N. It features on the cover a statue commemorating a meeting between Pope Paul VI, and Metropolitan Meliton of Chalcedon. Evidently the statue is based on an actual occurance of Paul VI prostrating himself before the Metropolitan, and kissing his feet. I have yet to find a full picture of the statue, or the event itself. (If you find one, drop a link in the combox). Now, I am first guy who approves of increased friendship with the Orthodox. However, the question with this is: What the Hell?

For some reason progressive “Catholics” have decided to elevate non-Catholics into their own pseudo-Canon of “acceptibles”. Gandhi especially has been presented as a paragon of the only “dogmas” now taught: tolerence, peace, dialog, niceness, ecumenism, holiness without Christ & His Church (that’s the big one)..bla.bla.bla..you know the nonsense… Well, I hate to burst bubbles, but just in case you didn’t know, a little background on the secular “saint” on black natives in S. Africa. He was very much a Hindu who did not like mixing even among different “castes”, let alone with the African natives of Johannesburg. The below quotes are his opinion of the Indians being classed along with “kaffirs” (his term) during his time in South Africa.
(*Note: The word “kaffir” is considered an insulting term for blacks in S. Africa)

Gandhi1.jpg picture by kjk76_95(“icon” of the “saint” by some delusional loon)

On having to live near Africans:
Why, of all places in Johannesburg, the Indian location should be chosen for dumping down all kaffirs of the town, passes my comprehension.

Of course, under my suggestion, the Town Council must withdraw the Kaffirs from the Location. About this mixing of the Kaffirs with the Indians I must confess I feel most strongly. I think it is very unfair to the Indian population, and it is an undue tax on even the proverbial patience of my countrymen.

On having to use public transportation with Africans:
You say that the magistrate’s decision is unsatisfactory because it would enable a person, however unclean, to travel by a tram, and that even the Kaffirs would be able to do so. But the magistrate’s decision is quite different. The Court declared that the Kaffirs have no legal right to travel by tram. And according to tram regulations, those in an unclean dress or in a drunken state are prohibited from boarding a tram. Thanks to the Court’s decision, only clean Indians or colored people other than Kaffirs, can now travel in the trams. (Read Article deflating the myth of the “saint”)

Although the teaching that priestly ordination is to be reserved to men alone has been preserved by the constant and universal Tradition of the Church and firmly taught by the Magisterium in its more recent documents, at the present time in some places it is nonetheless considered still open to debate, or the Church’s judgment that women are not to be admitted to ordination is considered to have a merely disciplinary force.

Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful. (John Paul II: ORDINATIO SACERDOTALIS)

When the One True God of the Universe was worshipped only by Abram and a small group of people who came from Chaldea the priest who offered sacrifice was the Father of the Family. Never adminstered to liturgically by female hands.

Then that same God manifested himself to Moses, and revealed to him how he was to be worshipped by the Chosen People. Aaron and his sons were to be the only ministers at the Altar. Never adminstered to liturgically by female hands.

priestjewish-1.jpg picture by kjk76_98

Then that same God came down to Earth to save us sinners, and took the name Yeshua ben Yousef (Jesus son of Joseph). He established a Church with many disciples, but only 12 Apostles. He established the Sacraments, and gave them to the Apostles, and to their spiritual descendents (Bishops) in perpetuity. Yet, Christ Himself only ordained 12 Apostles, all of whom were men. This same God was: Never adminstered to liturgically by female hands.

Oh Ye Anglicans…

(13th Installation of the Canonization of St. Pius X at Catholic Pictures)

What are you waiting for?! Get on the boat. Cross the Tiber.

At least one Church of England bishop will defect to Rome soon after the Lambeth Conference, I gather from Anglo-Catholic sources. And there could be more to follow.

I can’t tell you much more than that at the moment, because the negotiations with Rome are so sensitive – and the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales, who distrust Anglican traditionalists, are quite capable of throwing a spanner in the works. (Holy Smoke Blog)

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any society of the spirit, if any bowels of commiseration: Fulfill ye my joy, that you may be of one mind, having the same charity, being of one accord, agreeing in sentiment.  (Phil 2:1)
St. Paul, pray for us, and the end of all contention and rifts in the Church, that we may be of one mind in humility.

Members of St. Barnabas Parish in Mazomanie say they are stunned to learn that the priests leading their Catholic community will no longer allow their daughters to be servers at Mass. From now on, only boys will be able to assist priests in the ancient religious rite.

The new policy was announced at a meeting with parents Tuesday by Rev. John Del Priore, who was assigned to the parish on June 1.

“It’s an outrage,” said Tammy Parks. “They said it was a good way for boys to be indoctrinated into being a priest.”  After letting her 11-year-old daughter know that she would no longer be allowed on the altar, Del Priore asked her 8-year-old son about his interest in becoming an altar boy, Parks said in an interview.

“Not only is the priest discriminating against my daughter, he’s teaching my son that that is appropriate behavior,” she said.  Parents at St. Barnabas are so distressed that there is talk of having the boys boycott altar duty.

The Catholic Church broke with centuries of tradition in 1994, when the Vatican said girls would be allowed to join “altar boys” in assisting priests at Mass. (Read about the “outrage”)

You can send a note of encouragement to the Pastor of the Parish here.

Get ready for more of this stuff over the next 20-30 years. Sweeping “feminism” out of the sanctuary. Another part of  “New Evangelization” which has forced Catholics to argue ad nauseam over the basic rudiments, and traditions of the Faith all over again. Arguing over things which never should have been in the first place. It’s like repeatedly teaching a 25 year old how to tie his shoes. Wasted time. 27 years of novelty, confusion and destruction.

Seriously though, when are the SSPX ever going to get a deal like this again? The only real condition asked of them is that they do not publicly disrespect the Roman Pontiff (duh!). How much longer can folks stay out of full union with Rome before real problems start to rear their ugly heads? (example:  20 years from now a charming, charismatic bishop takes the place of Fellay, and he just happens to be a complete loon bag heretic, who removes him?). And honestly, do they really think the Church is going to say Vatican II was a mistake? What are the SSPX expecting?, that some future Pope is going to say: “Oops! My Bad!, forget that whole Ecumenical Council!” It’s never going to happen.

However, the teaching (per Benedict and his Hermeneutic of Continuity deal) will be to “see the Council through the lens of Tradition”, and slowly, but surely chip away at some of the nonsense people pass off as being “according to Vatican II”. They must see what he’s doing, right? The “progressives” seem to be more aware then alot of “trads”, as least  they see the writing on the wall.

I have read the new Biography of Archbishop Lefevbre published a few years ago, and he did not seem like the hard-liner folks assume him to have been. I think he would have jumped at this deal. Think of all the good that can come from it: another 300 + priests who say the Traditional Roman Liturgy, and who adhere to the Vigor of the perennial Church fully re-entering the blood stream of the contemporary Church. Either way, we should all pray that God’s will be done.

“Having set our minds to remove everything that may in some way offend the Divine Majesty, We resolve to punish, above all and without indulgence, those things which, by the authority of the Sacred Scriptures or by most grievous examples, are most repugnant to God and elicit His wrath; that is, negligence in divine worship, ruinous simony, the crime of blasphemy, and the execrable libidinous vice against nature. For which faults peoples and nations are scourged by God, according to His just condemnation, with catastrophes, wars, famine and plagues. . . . Let the judges know that, if even after this, Our Constitution, they are negligent in punishing these crimes, they will be guilty of them at Divine Judgment and will also incur Our indignation. . . . If someone commits that nefarious crime against nature that caused divine wrath to be unleashed against the children of iniquity, he will be given over to the secular arm for punishment; and if he is a cleric, he will be subject to analogous punishment after having been stripped of all his degrees [of ecclesiastical dignity].” (St. Pius V in article about teaching of Church against Sodomy)

Sodomite Parade in front of St. John Lateran!:

lateran.jpg picture by kjk76_95

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, because it is an abomination. . . . Defile not yourselves with any of these things with which all the nations have been defiled, which I will cast out before you, and with which the land is defiled: the abominations of which I will visit, that it may vomit out its inhabitants. . . . Beware then, lest in like manner, it vomit you also out, if you do the like things, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. Every soul that shall commit any of these abominations, shall perish from the midst of his people. . . . I am the Lord your God.” (Levi 18:22-30)

What precipatated this Post?:
Dr Qazi Rahman, a lecturer in cognitive biology at Queen Mary, University of London, said that he believed that these brain differences were laid down early in foetal development.

“As far as I’m concerned there is no argument any more – if you are gay, you are born gay,” he said.

The amygdala, he said, was important because of its role in “orientating”, or directing, the rest of the brain in response to an emotional stimulus – be it during the “fight or flight” response, or the presence of a potential mate. (Article on “Gay Brain”)

Response: So what? Every Human Being on this planet is attracted to some form of Sin. Whether or not there is a physical phenomenon to explain this is irrelevant. Known Example: Men with high Testostorone levels tend to exhibit higher levels of promiscuity, and violence. Does that decrease the culpability of their actions? If so, then we would need to release most of the prison population. I would not be suprised in the coming years if science eventually finds physical “proofs” for “voilence brain wrinkles”, or “greed genes”, etc.. Why so? Since when does Original Sin effect only the soul of man? Is not the body also groaning under sin? You have the answer every time you pass by a cemetary, hospital, or dentist office.

Homosexuals want their sin to be exempt, they want us to say their sin is not sin. They want us to call evil good. They have organized themselves, and are forcing Society to go along with it. Why don’t all pick-pockets get organized, and campaign against “anti-Thieve” sentiments. Create something called “Theiveaphobia”, and lambast all who disagree as biogots, hate-mongers, etc. We’ll have an annual “Thief Pride Parade” down 5th Avenue!

Even if all Humanity lost it’s mind and it’s morals and acquiesced to the “normalization” of Sodomy it would still be Objectively wrong. Example: Imagine if all men in the world held hands , and simultaneously screamed out “Homosexuality is normal”, would it make it so? How about if they screamed out “The sky is green, and there are 2 Suns in the sky!”, would it change anything? We understand the word Objectively to be the view of God, right? He is the Only One who’s “opinion” matters. His “opinion” is reality, it’s what we live in. And, we know He considers this particular sin to be an Abomination. We are not doing the folks who suffer with same-sex attraction any favours by going along with the Organized Homosexual aganda. We’re just greasing the skids into The Exterior Darkness.

(5th Installation of the Canonization of St. Pius X at Catholic Pictures)

Gregorius_XVI_-Franceso_Podesti-1.jpg picture by kjk76_95

Warning: Now We consider another abundant source of the evils with which the Church is afflicted at present: indifferentism. This perverse opinion is spread on all sides by the fraud of the wicked who claim that it is possible to obtain the eternal salvation of the soul by the profession of any kind of religion, as long as morality is maintained. Surely, in so clear a matter, you will drive this deadly error far from the people committed to your care. With the admonition of the apostle that “there is one God, one faith, one baptism” may those fear who contrive the notion that the safe harbor of salvation is open to persons of any religion whatever. They should consider the testimony of Christ Himself that “those who are not with Christ are against Him,” and that they disperse unhappily who do not gather with Him. Therefore “without a doubt, they will perish forever, unless they hold the Catholic faith whole and inviolate.” (Gregory XVI: Mirari Vos)

Reason for the Warning: “Yes, the people are obsessed by Islam. For example I’m going to India next month and I want to give this message that all religions are equal. Sometimes there are priorities because of particular situations, but we mustn’t get the impression there are first class religions and second class religions,” said Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, head of the Pontifical Council. He also  said “[Christians] have many things in common with other believers – for example that we all believe in one God, that we profess the same sacredness of life, the necessity of fraternity, the experience of prayer.” (Interview of Cardinal Tauran)

Hello All, Over the next week or so, I will be re-posting the pictures of the Canonization of Pope St. Pius X. You might be asking: Why Ken, we have seen them all already, what are you getting lazy with this blogging thing? Woah,…slow down there Punky Brewster! The reason is actually quite simple, and is for your benefit, my dearly beloved viewers. When I first was given the pictures by a Priestly reader (thanks Father!) of my old Blog-city blog, I used flickr instead of Photobucket to host my pictures.

Now, hindsight being 20/20,  I know that Flickr is vastly inferior to Photobucket in every respect, but especially when it comes to showing very large pics. Looking at the Page on the Canonization pics, and comparing them to what they actually look like (in full size), I realized the smaller size really cannot do them justice. So, thanks to switching to Photobucket, and to the recent unveiling of Catholic Pictures (handmaid to Hallowed Ground) , I can now present to you the ceremony in all it’s photographed glory.

Please do look at Catholic Pictures every day for the next 2 weeks or so. I do hope you enjoy them. Here is a snippet of a screen shot for the first in the series: What are you waiting for? Go!

Pope St. Pius X (while Bishop of Mantua) : “A priest must bring his every action, every step, every habit into harmony with the sublimity of his vocation. The priest who at the altar celebrates eternal mysteries, assumes, as it were, a divine form; this he must not relinquish when he descends from the High Mount and departs from the Temple of the Lord. Wherever he is, or in whatever work he engages, he must never cease to be a priest, accompanied by the dignity, gravity and decorum of a priest. He must, therefore, be holy; he must be saintly, so that his words and work express his love, impress his authority, and command respect. Exterior dignity is more powerful than eloquent words…. On the other hand, if he forgets the dignity of his character, if he does not show in his exterior comportment more gravity than seculars, he incurs the displeasure of those very people who applaud his levity but are not slow to despise both him and what he stands for.”

A recent conversation precipitated this post. It was about the Papal States, on why the Popes at the time fought so hard to keep temporal power (as if it was only about power). From their point of view at the time, to relinquish temporal control would have put the ministry of the Church itself in jeopardy, tinging it with Nationalism, Liberalism, and Republicanism. It was indeed a just concern: Josephism in Austria, Febronionism in Germany, Gallicanism in France. Pio Nono worried that they would eventually try to make the Papacy nothing more than chaplain for the House of Savoy, instead of the Vicar of Christ for all nations. His words below summed up his mindset:

7b33_12.jpg picture by kking_8888

For if the Roman Pontiff were subject to the sway of another ruler, but no longer possessed civil power, neither his position nor the acts of the Apostolic ministry would be exempt from the authority of the other ruler. This ruler could be either a heretic or a persecutor of the Church or constantly at war with other rulers. (Pius IX: On the Pontifical States)
