To you we come, angelic Pastor,
In you we see the gentle Redeemer.
You are the holy heir of our Faith,
You are the comfort and the refuge
of those who believe and fight.
Force and terror will not prevail,
But truth and love will reign……

It is not the power of man which makes what is put before us the Body and Blood of Christ, but the power of Christ Himself who was crucified for us. The priest standing there in the place of Christ says these words but their power and grace are from God. ‘This is My Body,’ he says, and these words transform what lies before him. (St. John Chrysostom, “Homilies on the Treachery of Judas”)

The divine Redeemer has so willed it that the priestly life begun with the supplication and sacrifice of His mortal body should continue without intermission down the ages in His Mystical Body which is the Church. That is why He established a visible priesthood to offer everywhere the clean oblation which would enable men from East to West, freed from the shackles of sin, to offer God that unconstrained and voluntary homage which their conscience dictates. In obedience, therefore, to her Founder’s behest, the Church prolongs the priestly mission of Jesus Christ mainly by means of the sacred liturgy. She does this in the first place at the altar, where constantly the sacrifice of the cross is represented and with a single difference in the manner of its offering, renewed. (Pius XII: Mediator Dei)

Millions of modern people of the white civilization_that is, the
civilization of Europe and America_have forgotten all about Islam. They have never come in contact with it. they take for granted that it is decaying, and that, anyway, it is just a foreign religion which will not concern them. It is, as a fact, the most formidable and persistent enemy which our civilization has had, and may at any moment become as large a menace in the future as it has been in the past. Finally, I declare that I am completely opposed to the error of the modernists who hold that there is nothing divine in sacred tradition; or what is far worse, say that there is, but in a pantheistic sense, with the result that there would remain nothing but this plain simple fact-one to be put on a par with the ordinary facts of history-the fact, namely, that a group of men by their own labor, skill, and talent have continued through subsequent ages a school begun by Christ and his apostles. I firmly hold, then, and shall hold to my dying breath the belief of the Fathers in the charism of truth, which certainly is, was, and always will be in the succession of the episcopacy from the apostles. In this particular case, this means granting new legitimacy to centuries of Ottoman violence with its impact on the entire region, as well as re-applying the fascist solution to the Kosovo issue dating back to the times of WWII, when Kosovo and Metohija were annexed to so-called Great Albania, when thousands of Christian-orthodox Serbs were expelled from their secular homes, just like in 1999, with the objective of not having them return, ever. All our hope do we repose in the most Blessed Virgin — in the all fair and immaculate one who has crushed the poisonous head of the most cruel serpent and brought salvation to the world: in her who is the glory of the prophets and apostles, the honor of the martyrs, the crown and joy of all the saints; in her who is the safest refuge and the most trustworthy helper of all who are in danger; in her who, with her only-begotten Son, is the most powerful Mediatrix and Conciliatrix in the whole world; in her who is the most excellent glory, ornament, and impregnable stronghold of the holy Church; in her who has destroyed all heresies and snatched the faithful people and nations from all kinds of direst calamities; in her do we hope who has delivered us from so many threatening dangers. These Jews, who were blind to all things, called on the Emperor (Julian the Apostate) for help and begged him to aid them in undertaking to rebuild the temple. The Emperor, for his part, spared no expense, sent engineers from all over the empire to oversee the work, summoned craftsmen from every land; he left nothing undone, nothing untried. At the same time, in his mad folly, he was hoping to cancel out the sentence passed by Christ which forbade the rebuilding of the temple.

They removed a great mound of earth and began to lay bare the foundations. They were just about to start building when suddenly fire leaped forth from the foundations and completely consumed not only a great number of the workmen but even the stones piled up there to support the structure. This put a stop to the untimely obstinacy of those who had undertaken the project. Many of the Jews, too, who had seen what had happened, were astonished and struck with shame. The Emperor Julian had been madly eager to finish the work. But when he heard what had happened, he was afraid that, if he went on with it, he might call down the fire on his  own head. (St. John Chrysostom Against the Jews Homily V)

Julian the Apostate

He (Julian) planned at vast cost to restore the once splendid temple at Jerusalem. He had entrusted the speedy performance of this work to Alypius of Antioch. But, though this Alypius pushed the work on with vigour, aided by the governor of the province, terrifying balls of flame kept bursting forth near the foundations of the temple, and made the place inaccessible to the workmen, some of whom were burned to death; and since in this way the element persistently repelled them, the enterprise halted. (Ammianus Marcellinus Chronicler of the Emperor Julian)

Contrast: The Jewish Third Temple movement have built a theologically improbable alliance with evangelical Christians, who have come to believe that the Second Coming of Jesus–already accelerated by the return of the Jews to Israel–will be given even more momentum if the Jews build the Third Temple. If they build it, He will come. (Evangelical Support for rebuilding the Temple)

If St. John was down here below now, what would he say to our “seperated brethren”?:

This picture just makes me think of a real neighborhood, kind of like where I grew up. Speaking of neighborhoods, the Internet is a strange and wonderful place. I was doing some reading up on the green house thing, which brought up the  Ozone layer, which mentally dragged me back to my old neighborhood, Ozone Park in Queens, NY. Strange thing is, there is actually a pretty large Wiki post on Ozone Park. Go read about it, it was a pretty interesting place to grow up. Jack Kerouac, Cyndi Louper, and Bernadette Peters would agree!

This area of Ozone Park has been known as “The Hole” for over fifty years and is reputed to have been the final resting place for a number of mob figures.

The elementary power of the masses, deftly managed and employed, the state also can utilize: in the ambitious hands of one or of several who have been artificially brought together for selfish aims, the state itself, with the support of the masses, reduced to the minimum status of a mere machine, can impose its whims on the better part of the real people: the common interest remains seriously, and for a long time, injured by this process, and the injury is very often hard to heal. You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? (Matt 5:13)

The Wieliczka salt mine features a 3.5-km. tourist route that includes statues, all sculpted by miners out of the rock salt. Even the crystals in the chandeliers are fashioned of salt. The mine is justly referred to as “the underground salt cathedral of Poland.”

Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

Pope Benedict XVI will modify the Good Friday prayers used in the Tridentine Mass that generated protests from Jewish leaders who found the prayers offensive, the Jerusalem Post reports.

Latin prayers for Good Friday that asked Catholics to “pray also for the Jews that the Lord our God may take the veil from their hearts and that they also may acknowledge Our Lord Jesus Christ,” asking God not to “refuse your mercy even to the Jews; hear the prayers which we offer for the blindness of that people so that they may acknowledge the light of your truth, which is Christ, and be delivered from their darkness.” (Link to story)

Reactions of the Jewish Community to the changes of the Catholic Liturgy were not exactly muted: (Why wouldn’t they be happy, they got the stupid “goyim” to change their Religion.)

We are holden to the duty of reparation and expiation by a certain more valid title of justice and of love, of justice indeed, in order that the offense offered to God by our sins may be expiated and that the violated order may be repaired by penance: and of love too so that we may suffer together with Christ suffering and “filled with reproaches” (Lam. iii, 30), and for all our poverty may offer Him some little solace. For since we are all sinners and laden with many faults, our God must be honored by us not only by that worship wherewith we adore His infinite Majesty with due homage, or acknowledge His supreme dominion by praying, or praise His boundless bounty by thanksgiving; but besides this we must need make satisfaction to God the just avenger, “for our numberless sins and offenses and negligences.” (Pius XI MISERENTISSIMUS REDEMPTOR)
