“He who heareth my word, and believeth …hath life everlasting.” (John, 5, 24) This affirmation by Jesus, which we heard in the Gospel, makes us think of the hardest moments of the pontificate of Pius XII, when, perceiving the collapse of every human certainty, he strongly felt the need, even through a constant ascetic effort, to adhere to Christ, the only certainty that never passes. Benedict XVI on Pius XII: (Translation from Rorate Caeli)

God bless you, sir, for these great pictures of Benedict XVI reverencing Pius XII in memoriam. It amazes me still to look at present pics of the pope and actually see Catholic Rome again! Like a new Bride! Isnt Restoration beautiful?
Thomas, I read some fellow “trads” comlpaining about things! True, it’s not all the way “trad”, but man, B16 has done so much positive in his 3 years. And many more we pray….
Where’s the fanon?
Ah, I too would love to see the fanon.
Surely this pope will one day wear the fanon! Ken, I hear you. Many trads maintain a wary desert posture. 40 years is a long time, and the mourning can become a kind of principle. i see it often enough among good men, &wish it were different. B16 has done tremendous things in 3 yrs. But the Church isnt purified yet. The old Roman saying “the pope reigns, he doesnt rule” holds some truth. There’s a modernist rail deep inside the governing Church, still struggling.
Thomas, The younger generations are at the least “conservative”, and do not have a hatred of Tradition. The liberals are old, graying, and dying out with no one to replace them. Heterodoxy does not attract vocations. Who’s going to give up their temporal existence serving an institution they wish to destroy? It’s just a matter of time, things will slowly but surely normalize. Another 40-50 years all will be well internally in the Church (externally is another issue).
Nice photos of Pope Benedict XVI. At which Mass were these photos taken?
