Amazing. It puts anti-Catholicism in context for us younger American Catholics. That a politician like Paisley could rise to become head of N. Ireland after a stunt like that. Makes most anti-Catholicism in America today, like Rev. Hagee’s, look pretty mild.

At the same time, it’s refreshing to see traditional Protestant anti-catholicism instead of the left wing liberal anti-catholicism I’m used. No liberal would ever call the Pope the antichrist because they think Christ is completely irrelevant.
