Hello Friends,
Sad and alarming news (if true),
A reader of this blog left a message and a link alerting me of an Ebay post that purports to be selling a Consecrated Host from today’s Papal Mass. It could be legit, I don’t know. Either way, please contact Ebay to stop this Sacrilage . If you have a blog, please do post this to you blog, and let others know what is going on. Contact Ebay to stop this. Or, go to the Catholic League, and tell them. This is evil.
**Update, listing no longer seems to be there. This was prohibited by Ebay in the past. Hopefully the unfortunate being who did this realized what he was doing. I don’t know. Maybe contact the Catholic League anyway. **

Fr. Z is right; this is why these Masses shouldn’t involve everyone receiving Communion, more than any other reason.
Truly despicable and satanic!
Hi Ken,
Ebay already has a policy prohibiting auctions on consecrated hosts. If anyone has evidence of such an item being listed, i.e., a link to the auction, feel free to post it. In keeping with its policy, Ebay should be willing to remove any offering of such an item. We do not need to beseige Ebay with protests of unverified listings of items they already prohibit.

P.S. I see you did post the link here. Let’s bring it to Ebay’s attention. Thanks.
P.P.S. Okay, it looks as if the auction was terminated by the seller. The host is not for sale.
I wonder if that was from the Mass in Washington since the one in NY was probably too recent. I thought that since the tickets were so hard to get and parishes controlled who got them that we would not have to go through this again. My guess would be that it was likely an employee from the stadium: when I was escorting one deacon at the Mass in DC this woman (stadium employee) approached the deacon to receive the Eucharist and he noticed that she was not Catholic by the way she presented herself. Turns out that she was Baptist and after a few long seconds let go of Our Lord and returned Him to the deacon.
The post (when it was up) said he was at Yankee stadium. Could he be lying? Sure. I hope he was lying, and didn’t do this horror. This happens with papal Masses, people think it is a “momento”. Hopefully communion in the hand is being re-thougth in the hierarchy.
When I saw the post, the price was $3.49. Judas asked for 30 pieces of silver, and this guy was going to do the same thing for $3.49!
Yet a further instance confirming the necessity of returning to the distribution of Holy Communion on the tongue only.
Or this jackass slipped an unconsecrated host out of a church. In grade school our parish just kept the bags and bags of them in the box they were shipped in.
I am pro-reception on the tongue, but an evil person who is inclined can just as easily remove it from his mouth after recieving…
I would like to see a link to the article by Father Z - I am also somewhat skeptical that not offering communion to every Catholic present would do much good in preventing someone from doing something like this…
