Oh my, both Chesterton and Belloc sound so different from what I expected! I guess I expected both of them to have much deeper and firmer voices. But it's wonderful and endearing to hear them! :) It can be easy to think of our great literary forebears just in terms of words on paper, rather than as real, living, breathing, talking (and singing!) human beings.

God be with you!

Ken,

For something even more surprising, go here

http://www.catholic.com/radio/calendar.php?type=month&calendar=1&category=0&month=08&year=2007

to listen to Belloc's voice. Click on the program from the 14th of the month. It's about twenty minutes in, if I remember correctly.

His voice was somewhat suprising, I also imagined he would have a deeper, louder voice. One thing I noticed, was that he laughed alot, which is in accord with what I thought about him.

Wow this is wonderful! I didn't know that audio of Chesterton existed! For some reason I always imagined that his voice would have been deeper, more forceful, probably because of his size and the forcefulness of his writing, it just seemed fitting that he would have a loud booming voice. This does make him seem like more of a humble and thoughtful man though, which we are told that he very much was.
