Don’t let them get away with it! What? “Liberals” claiming Bl. John the XXIII as “their” Pope. Nonsense! They never had a Pope, even the worst. Past posts on John XXIII: (1)(2)(3)
The picture of Bl. Pope John’s low Mass is the first I see where Cardinal Dante is wearing a stole over the rochet and surplice. The other MC isn’t. Would anyone know why this is?
I cannot see the picture very well (too small!). However, when any other priest (besides the Celebrant) puts on the stole is because he has to handle the Ciborium during the distribution of Communion.
So, it could be that Mgr. Dante took out the Ciborium out of the Tabernacle, brought some more consecrated Hosts from another Tabernacle or is going to assist with the distribution of Holy Communion.
I’m afraid to say that John XXIII’s “traditionalism” only goes as far as liturgy. He was progressive in all other respects, as can be gleaned from his writings and comments. He purposely made Montini a cardinal, against the advice of other traditional prelates – so he could stand a chance of becoming Pope.
I am willing to believe that towards the last days of his life, he may have regretted calling the council so soon.
Dr. Luigi Villa, a priest who has spent his life investigating the masonic infiltration of the church, wrote a memorandum to the Vatican in 2000 against John XXIII’s beatification, which can be found (Warning ##PDF file**) here.
Alice von Hildebrand:
“His Eminence told me the following: “Knowing that his death was close, John XXIII called me and told me: `Silvio, Silvio; my pontificate has been a failure. …”
