I think that “chick and egg” is a bad metaphor that marginalizes the Jewish faith quite a bit. It doesn’t make your website as appealing as a source for information. In this age where we should be promoting tolerance it doesn’t serve us well to imply that other religions only constitute “the shell” of what we may have.
Is “tolerance” something to strive for? Is it now a positive attribute to be sought after for it’s own intrinsic goodness? I though tolerance was something to suffer through, like a toothace on a Sunday, or a smelly person on the subway. I have no interest in pursuing “tolerance”.
That is the Truth of Christianity vis-a-vis Judiasm, we sprouted from a now dead branch. Don’t like it? I don’t care.
Ok, promoting tolerance? How does tolerance help at all? I’m ok-you’re ok makes us all like walking robots. With tolerance, nothing matters; nothing is a concern; nothing is right or wrong because it’s all “tolerated”. Down with tolerance, up with truth!!
