Hello All, I just took a peek at my old site’s admin page (Blog-city), and came to the realization that between it, and the new blog I have actually recieved 106,000 hits since I started blogging 6 months ago (December). I just want to thank you to all who have taken to peeking here during your busy days. Hopefully it provides an aesthetically pleasing respite in an otherwise very chatty, and sometimes belligerent Catholic blogo-sphere. I have many more pictures ready to roll, and I plan on keeping the site active until December- January. The site will stay up after that of course. I don’t especially like blogging, finding pictures takes time, and I sometimes worry that I a making my Religion into a sort of hobby. I just want to provide a sort of central depository for old Catholic photo’s, and not let them fall into the Ecclesial post-Demiurge memory hole.
When all my pics are depleted on the blog, I will make public all the pictures on my many private Flickr accounts, just so that people can have a look-see without having to search all around the Internet to see 40-50 pics of St. Pius X in a tiara. If you have a blog, feel free to peruse the picture archive, and snag a relevant pic to use in an otherwise wordy post. This is what I wanted when I started this blog. We’re Catholics, we’re supposed to be visual.
I do not put much of myself on here, and unfortunately that gives this blog a sort of ”facelessness”. However, that is OK, as it lends itself to a “picture gallery” look. But, for you curious types go to some old posts about yours truly on my old blog: Here, Here, and Here. Basically Ken is: Male, Single, 30 (I can’t believe I am that old now, eeek time goes by), 1/2 Italian, 1/4 English, 1/4 Slovak (Outer-borough NYers are very ethnicity conscious, always curious about what nationality you are, and vice-versa) from Staten Island, attend the TLM in St. Agnes in Manhattan, bla-bla-bla. Y’all come back now, and look at some more pretty pictures, ya hear!
Thank you very much. You are providing a unique vision of the Catholic Church. God bless you.
Congratulations!
Is there any way I can get access to your flickr pages once you start putting pictures there?
They are there, just marked as “private” now. Once they are all used up on the blog, I will make them available to everyone on Flickr.
Ken,
Your website does indeed provide a respite for the weary blogger…a visual feast for famished traditionalists. Thank you for your hard work and devotion to beauty.
Thank you Kim.
I can’t begin to understand such a huge following. Congratulations! All for the greater honor and glory etc.
I have a blog with a daily holy card from my personal collection and someone elses words of wisdom. A daily very fast look that I hope brings inspiration to others. If you would like to use any of the pictures I’d love to be a small part of your vast outreach. It’s also a good way to find new viewers.
Thanks and hope you can take a look. You are in my Favorite Links and hope you might add me to yours????
(Insert humble smile here.)
Micki, Friend, your fine site is already on my blogroll (under the name : Holy Card Blog) , and you are indeed a regular read of mine. If you would rather have me change your name on the blogroll to windowshowitall let me know.
This is the greatest blog I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Please, for the love of God, don’t ever quit doing what you’re doing. Blogs like this are what keep the tradition of the Church from dying off and fading away.
May God Bless You!
Pax Christi,
Nicholas Hardesty
Phatcatholic, Thank you very much! God Bless you too!
