I think the tiara of the first picture was shown in a recent exposition of treasures of the conclaves at the Vatican, but it seemed to me that the top orb and cross had been bent it. Another sign of the cultural warfare between the traditionalists and iconoclasts in the Vatican?

“vestige of triumphalism” (?) , I would say that the conciliar church is much more triumphalistic than the pre-Vatican II church, if she really was. Is hate a word or feeling worthy of Jesus’ disciples?
I had a picture years ago of Pope Pius in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with the title ‘they look at each other these two christs clothed in white’
“vestige of triumphalism”: What they (liberals) would call it, not I. I am using their sneering expression. I am all for the Tiara.
No apostrophe in Tiaras – unless you are denoting possession!
